Recently, I had the incredible opportunity to interview Drupal founder and original creator of the open source content management system (CMS), Drupal Buytaert. It was fascinating to hear his story, including the history of the project, his thoughts on the state of Drupal in the world of open source, and the future of the platform.

Buytaert shared with us how he always had the idea and vision of creating an open source CMS, and how the project started on small scale, as most open source projects typically do. Over the years, he saw how the platform grew in popularity, especially due to its focus on security, scalability, and user-friendly administration.

It was also interesting to learn how Buytaert has grown with the project, as it has gone from being an exclusively open source platform to a major enterprise-level enterprise CMS. More than anything, it was inspiring to hear Buytaert’s passion and enthusiasm for the project he created and the platform he continues to lead. It was also impressive to hear his insights into how technology is changing, and how Drupal is staying at the forefront of innovation in the open source space. I’m sure the Drupal project will remain at the top of its game for years to come.
