Is the 2020 Genesis G80 Meeting Our Expectations

Among the smaller of the two full-size sedans the 2020 edition of the newly released G80 is slightly bigger in size.  We also heard that the upcoming 2020 Genesis G80 will be appearing with an entirely new style that will match its newly installed chassis. As learned from one of the most reliable sources from the Santa Rosa Genesis dealership, this next-generation design of the 2020 G80 lineup will most probably reflect the design cues similar to that of the design concept used for the 2020 G90 series and the Essentia Coupe. What they will share in common is getting their frontal pentagon-styled grille wrapped in vinyl.

Upgrades for the 2020 Edition

The 2020 edition of the Genesis G80 series is expected to have some major changes both in matter of styling and in its powertrain lineup. As the rumor hoes, it is going to share the same styling upgrades with the G90 series that will list down a slightly enhanced interior in the garb of new trims and better materials while Genesis will introduce an uprated infotainment system in tune witha bunch of advanced tech features. Rumors are also spreading about the automaker in the plan to launch a performance-oriented G80 Sport trim to be added to the 2020 lineup.

Powertrain Enhancements

The upcoming 2020 edition of Genesis G80 is supposed to retain its existing5.0L V8 six cylinder powertrain combination that was capable of making 420-horsepower. On the other hand, the entry-level models will be powered by the 3.8L V6 engine milling out 311 of ponies and 293 pound-feet of torque. But some say, the 2020 model year of Genesis G80 lineup should include a 3.3L twin-turbo V6 that is known for making 365 ponies.

Many say that Genesis is also planning to insert a hybrid version replacing the existing V8 engine variant. For these powertrain combinations, an 8-speed automatic transmission is engaged that is more likely to continue as the sole transmission option across the entire 2020 lineup range. Those who are expecting a 2.5L turbo four engine to join the 2020 lineup need to wait for at least the next generation update, as Genesis has not mentioned about this anywhere so far.

The New Styling Tweaks

The redesigned model of the 2020 Genesis G80 will have a frontal design wearing a new style of  lighting that will suit perfectly with the large signature grille in the middle, announcing the creative expertise of its automaker while a short yet fastback- rear end will complete the look when your eyes follow its departure.

When we dropped at the Genesis dealer near Santa Rosa, the sales experts of the showroom commented, that the upcoming 2020 Genesis G80 sedan has answered to many of the market demands, especially in the powerline front. The fact that a new hybrid version is about to replace the V8 option, speaks clearly about the intention of Genesis to consider the green options being included in the future lineup, which was long awaited by the Genesis lovers, and also the need of the hour, proves again that the 2020 Genesis G80 surely aims to meet our expectations.
